Hello Friend!

I look forward to working with you to create photographs you will LOVE!

My name is Julie.
I am a portrait photographer.

My purpose is to serve my clients wholeheartedly and offer a photography experience they will always cherish.  I LOVE meeting people, and having the opportunity to hear their stories and to collaborate in creating portraits that capture who they are.

It gives me goose bumps to think about these photographs living in your home as beautiful art that you can enjoy in your day to day life. But even more so, that these photographs will become part of your family’s most treasured possessions as time passes. Photographs will outlive both you and I, and the stories they tell, the beauty they share, will be treasured by future generations.

Photographs of you and those you love will become more valuable over time and it is an HONOUR for me to be part of this experience with you.

Portraiture for life's amazing moments.

I have been a professional photographer since 2002 and I am an accredited member of the Professional Photographers of Canada.

However, photography has been a life-long obsession, and I have been taking and enjoying photographs in some way or another since I was a child.

I strive to continuously develop my photography knowledge and skills to provide the best possible results for my clients and for my own enjoyment of the craft.

Personal Stuff About Me

Don't feel obligated to read this part...

Ok, I know this stuff has nothing to do with my photography services. OR maybe it does – getting to know someone a bit more on a personal level can help you understand where they are coming from in life and business. Maybe you will identify with something here. Or maybe you will be like ‘nope’. Either way, for better or for worse, here is some personal bio stuff:

  • I am weird and like it that way. But most people tend to think I am pretty normal. I am a FABULOUS actor I guess.
  • I am an introvert. Most people don’t believe me when I tell them I am an introvert because I can talk a lot – for sure, I should get an Oscar or something.
  • I was a stay at home mom for 18 years. And LIKED it (see, weird and introverted). I am a combo of a crunchy granola mom, with a side of frugal farmer wife and a dash of stiff upper lip.
  • I wasn’t hanging out in my house all those years by myself (I wish!) I have 3 kids – two young adults and one almost adult. They grew up at a freakishly rapid pace. We are on the brink of successfully launching them all into the world. And by the way, you are welcome, because they ROCK!
  • We have a stand-offish but very pretty cat in residence named Lucy, and CRAZILY, we recently decided we didn’t have enough chaos in our life so we adopted a very smart, sassy German shepherd named Maya. Life is messy to say the least.
  • I have been married for over 25 years. We look EXACTLY the same as our wedding day. Like, IDENTICAL. Really…okay, one of us uses a bit of hair colour from time to time and the other is going gracefully grey. But other than that…
  • Here is some of the little but VERY important stuff: I drink too much coffee (black only please), I love wine, I am definitely not a morning person, I hate gyms, I hate winter, I hate snakes, I am a picky eater (but learning to try new things), and I have become a terrible housekeeper/gardener/chore-doer over the last few years.
  • On a more positive note, I am a moderately creative person and make pretty stuff from time to time. I recently took up archery, meditation and yoga (I am pretty bad at all three but still love them!), I joined Toastmasters to learn to speak more confidently in front of people, I love reading, I must always be listening to music, and from time to time, I take photographs for fun.

Thanks to my beautiful friend Sandra Enns for this photo of me – it’s one of my favourites!
