Hello lonely little blog…yes, I still remembered my password for you and I promise to visit a little more often. And just because its our first visit in a while, let’s start with something fun and light…like the Blog Carousel. Remember? Each month or so a group of lovely and very talented photographers post a creative image or two based on a theme of the month? And after someone visits the first post, they can keep clicking through to the next entry til they get all the way back to the beginning? Like a carousel at the fair!
(okay, did I suck up enough to my lonely little space on the web to make up for a long absence?)
This month, to kick off the new year, our group is setting up some new creative challenges, starting with Mystery Macro. I wasn’t sure what to post about, but I randomly was glancing about the room to find something and an item that had been in storage for a long time but was now sitting in my living room caught my eye. Which also then led me to think of another item that goes with it. Hmmm, I wonder what they are???
The basket was the item I spied on my search for an item to photograph for this assignment. We bought it in the market in Jamaica on our honeymoon in 1991! The basket now sits beside my reading chair and contains a few pairs of slippers (you know, so I have options when my feet are chilly!). We also bought a hand carved walking stick and it has been living at the back of a closet…til today. I am going find a place to display it. As time moves forward, I really want to feature these personal and unique things in my home. If they are living in storage, then they are not appreciated fully and their magical ability to help us remember that time in our lives so long ago is muted. And that just will not do!
Next up in the blog carousel of mystery macro loveliness is Amy Duffing of 3 Peas Photography Twin Cities MN Photographer. Check out her entry in the carousel by clicking her business name.
